KABUL -- The Taliban has launched "clearing operations" in Kabul and surrounding areas, fueling anxiety among citizens as they face even greater restrictions.
The interior ministry kicked off the security sweeps in late February. These have included house-to-house searches through the capital's residential areas and neighboring provinces, and caused panic and outrage among citizens who complain about the misconduct of security personnel.
