SYDNEY -- Australian ambassador to the U.S. Kevin Rudd has scrubbed his social media of past criticism of President-elect Donald Trump, as Canberra seeks to bolster ties with Washington.

Rudd, a former prime minister, in 2020 called Trump "the most destructive president in history" on X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote that he "drags America and democracy through the mud."
