SAO PAULO -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday embarked on his first trip to China since returning to office in January, pushing to deepen economic and business ties between the two countries.

The trip will be one of hard work to strengthen relations with Brazil's largest trading partner, Lula wrote on Twitter the night before.
