WASHINGTON -- By all accounts, 2023 was not a good year for Canada's relationship with China or India, the two biggest markets of the Indo-Pacific, a region the country sees as key to its economic future. Some international relations experts say a change in approach is needed.

A report published by the Canada West Foundation last week argues that "Canada needs to better pursue its interests abroad as opposed to a singular focus on being driven by values."
