SHANGHAI -- China expelled a Canadian diplomat Tuesday, in a tit-for-tat move after Ottawa the previous day declared a Chinese envoy persona non grata.

Jennifer Lynn Lalonde, who works for the Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai, has until May 13 to leave China, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
