TOKYO -- Japan and China agreed to move forward negotiations toward lifting Beijing's ban on Japanese seafood imports in a cabinet-level economic dialogue held here Saturday.

Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya called on his counterpart, Wang Yi, also a member of the Chinese Communist Party's Politburo, to restart imports as soon as possible.
