BERLIN/BEIJING -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang held talks Tuesday with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz as the two sides sought to draw closer through shared interests on the economic and environmental fronts while steering clear of hot-button issues.

Li arrived in Berlin for the seventh round of German-Chinese government consultations. The official motto of the summit is "acting sustainably together," intended to highlight climate change as a major element of the talks.
