TOKYO -- Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Beijing on Tuesday as both countries aimed to strengthen ties through infrastructure projects and cash aid of 300 million yuan ($41 million).

China regards Nepal as an important neighbor, and Xi wants to advance the strategic partnership, according to a statement by state mouthpiece Xinhua.
