SHANGHAI -- China on Monday called on Japan to prioritize bilateral interests following Tokyo's move the previous day to add cutting-edge semiconductor tools to its export control list.

A spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the action was directly aimed at China, while stressing that it would hurt companies and disrupt the global supply chain.
