HAMBURG, Germany -- China relaxed controls on German agricultural products Tuesday as Chancellor Olaf Scholz ends his three-day visit, a move by Beijing to improve ties with Europe as it comes under increasing pressure from the U.S. to curb exports.
Beijing has been on a diplomatic drive to restore multilateral ties, and Tuesday's announcement of the relaxation of import controls on German pork, apples and some beef products follows similar moves for Spain, Belgium and Austria earlier in the year.
