BEIJING -- The Chinese Embassy in Japan resumed issuing travel visas for Japanese nationals on Sunday, a move that appears motivated by a desire to perk up the economy by increasing business interactions between the the two countries.

China suspended issuing visas to Japanese travelers on Jan. 10, after Japan strengthened COVID-19 border controls for travelers from China.
