China silent on motive behind stabbing of Japanese boy in Shenzhen

Despite Tokyo's demands for answers, little information has come forward

BEIJING -- A month since the fatal stabbing of a Japanese boy in Shenzhen, Chinese officials have yet to disclose whether the attacker had targeted Japanese nationals.

"As far as I know, China's public security authorities are handling the case in accordance with the law," said Mao Ning, spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a news conference Wednesday.
