China to restart visa-free travel for Japanese nationals

Long-awaited move follows Ishiba-Xi talks; several European countries also exempted

SHANGHAI -- China's foreign ministry on Friday said the government will waive visa requirements for Japanese citizens traveling to the country, starting Nov. 30.

Japan was listed alongside a group of European countries, including Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia, that are being added to the visa waiver list. The measure will last until the end of next year.
