Xi stresses opportunities, lack of conflicts in talks with European Council president

BEIJING/BRUSSELS -- Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed another top European official to Beijing on Thursday in a tug of war with the U.S. for influence.

During his meeting with European Council President Charles Michel at the Great Hall of the People, Xi said China looks forward to seeing the European Union "share in the opportunities brought by China's huge market," according to the Chinese readout.
