
TOKYO -- China is seen as an important partner for the future by the largest share of respondents in a survey in Southeast Asia, knocking Japan from the top perch.
When asked which among the Group of 20 leading economies will be an "an important partner in the future," 48% chose China while 43% picked Japan. The results, released Wednesday, are a reversal of the 2019 poll, which placed Japan in the lead with 51% while China garnered 48%.
