BEIJING -- China's new white paper on national defense dedicated significantly more space to Taiwan than the previous version issued in 2015 in a reflection of its concerns over the Trump administration's growing interest in the island.
China discouraged foreign involvement in Taiwan in the document published Wednesday, warning that it makes "no promise to renounce the use of force" against efforts to separate the island from the mainland.
