SINGAPORE -- High-ranking defense officials and government leaders from around the world made contrasting arguments in working toward regional peace and stability over the weekend in Singapore at the annual Shangri-La Dialogue security summit.

At times, delegates did not see eye-to-eye on a variety of issues, with the event serving as a platform for the U.S. and China to propose differing mechanisms for partnerships and cooperation in the region.
