TOKYO -- Two naval ships belonging to China and Russia entered the contiguous zone around the Japan-administered Senkaku Islands on Monday morning, according to Japan's Defense Ministry.

A Chinese Jiangwei II-class frigate sailed in the contiguous waters for about six minutes, marking the fourth such incident by a Chinese naval vessel and the first since June 2018.
