BEIJING -- A Chinese court on Monday held the first hearing of a liability lawsuit filed by relatives of passengers on Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, nearly 10 years after the aircraft went missing in one of the world's most puzzling aviation mysteries.

The Malaysian flag carrier has been named a defendant along with aircraft manufacturer Boeing, its engine provider Rolls-Royce and German insurer Allianz Insurance. The case was filed by multiple families at Beijing's Chaoyang District People's Court.
