TAIPEI - Honduras will seek to establish formal diplomatic relations with China, the country's president said Tuesday, in a move that would effectively end its official relationship with Taiwan.

Honduran President Xiomara Castro announced on Twitter that she had instructed her foreign minister to begin the process of recognizing China, following up on a campaign pledge she made in 2021.
