NEW DELHI -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday and told him that no solution to a conflict can be found on the battlefield, saying "peace is of utmost importance."

Modi is in Russia for a two-day visit. Russian forces attacked a children's hospital in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv on Monday as part of an airstrike that killed over 40 people, the latest assault in Moscow's two-year war against Ukraine.
