WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Defense Department has begun developing the 2025 National Defense Strategy, a study that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth described as "the single most important document" to ensure the Pentagon is operating in line with President Donald Trump's priorities.

One item that is being keenly watched will how much emphasis will be placed on defending Taiwan from Chinese aggression.
