TOKYO -- The Quad summit of Australia, Japan, India and the U.S. planned in Sydney next week will not take place, as American domestic politics interrupt an opportunity for the partners to display solidarity in the Indo-Pacific region.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made the call on Wednesday, following a White House decision to have President Joe Biden return straight home on Sunday after attending the Group of Seven summit in Hiroshima, Japan.
