TOKYO -- The Quad nations of Japan, the U.S., Australia and India are due to conduct the first joint coast guard training exercises as soon as early January, according to a source in Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The exercises will take place around Japan. Separately, a joint training exercise among Japan, the U.S. and the Philippines is planned for March, the source said.
