SYDNEY -- Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese reiterated bilateral security ties during a meeting Thursday, months after the Solomons entered into a pact with China.

In the joint statement released during Sogavare's trip to Australia, both leaders said they "reaffirmed mutual security commitments, and the Pacific family first approach to regional peace and security."
