TOKYO -- The U.S. response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the Israel-Hamas war will not impede its military's ability to counter China, America's top uniformed officer said Friday.

Gen. Charles Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, cited the expanded collaboration with allies including Japan as the reason for his confidence. He spoke to reporters at the U.S. ambassador's residence in Tokyo.
