WASHINGTON -- The U.S. and India will hold a dialogue for the first time on the Indian Ocean, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell told Congress on Wednesday, amid China’s growing presence in the area.

The participants will "talk about what our mutual concerns are, how we can work together," Campbell told the House Foreign Affairs Committee during a hearing on power competition in the Indo-Pacific.
