TOKYO -- Gen. Anthony Cotton, commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, arrived in Tokyo on Friday as part of his first visit to the region since assuming office last December.

Cotton oversees America's nuclear triad, which consists of land-launched intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), sea-based ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs) and air-based strategic bombers.
