TOKYO -- Japan will propose sharing supply chain data with Association of Southeast Asian Nations members as part of measures to strengthen economic ties with the region, a key player in industries including autos and semiconductors, Nikkei has learned.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has been involved in the discussions, which also cover environmental protection and skills development, as Japan and ASEAN mark their 50th year of cooperation.
