BEIJING -- Japanese national security adviser Takeo Akiba is visiting China on a three-day trip through Tuesday, seeking to lay the groundwork for a meeting between the leaders of the two countries.

Akiba meets with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday, Nikkei has learned.
