JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo gave Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako a warm welcome at Bogor Palace on the outskirts of Jakarta on Monday.

The imperial couple is visiting the world's fourth-most populous country for seven days, starting Saturday. This is their first goodwill visit since Naruhito ascended the throne in 2019.
