HONG KONG -- A letter apparently written by the Japanese father of a 10-year-old boy stabbed to death in Shenzhen has circulated, bearing a message against hatred.

The boy was attacked by a Chinese man on Wednesday, on the street just a few hundred meters away from the Shenzhen Japanese school where he was a pupil, as he walked with his mother. The 44-year-old suspect, surnamed Zhong, is in police custody.
