MANILA -- Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. says resupply missions to fishermen and the country's outposts within the South China Sea will continue despite flaring maritime tensions with Beijing.

"We are going to continue to perform our mission. We will never be part of an escalation in the situation in the West Philippine Sea," he told reporters at a chance interview on Tuesday, referring to a part of the South China Sea.
