SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday ordered an investigation into four additional launchers for a controversial American missile defense system, saying the Ministry of National Defense failed to tell the new administration about their presence in-country.

Moon was informed Monday about the launchers for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system by national security adviser Chung Eui-yong, according to the president's office. Moon, who called the news "very shocking," called National Defense Minister Han Min-koo to confirm, the Blue House said.
