SEOUL -- South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Wednesday urged world leaders to join in defending democracy against the threat posed by disinformation.

"Fake news threatens elections which are the foundation of democracy by inciting people to make wrong decisions based on information that is not true," Yoon said in a virtual session of the third Summit for Democracy.
