MAGONG, Taiwan -- The Taiwanese military conducted live-fire military drills Wednesday that simulated a response to Chinese forces attempting a landing on outlying islands.

The Cheng Chiang exercise was held early morning in the Penghu Islands, also known as the Pescadores Islands, an archipelago located in the Taiwan Strait.
