TAIPEI -- The U.S. and Taiwan will revamp a military communication system to improve their armed forces' ability to work together in the event of aggression against the self-governing island.

The upgrade to Link 16, which enables the exchange of tactical data in real time between military platforms and units, will make it compatible with the advanced F-16V fighter jets, M1 Abrams tanks and other military equipment arriving from the U.S.
