TAIPEI -- Taiwan aims to tighten ties with neighbors across Asia through a new government-backed fund and technology investments, according to Taipei's top official in charge of foreign relations.

Lin Chia-lung, the new foreign minister and a ruling party heavyweight, told reporters on Friday that "technology, capital and talent" will be the keys to his economic diplomacy. He stressed that he will double down on developing trade and commerce ties with Asian nations.
