Thai and Cambodian forces clash overnight despite calls for ceasefire

BANGKOK/PHNOM PENH -- Military clashes along the border between Thailand and Cambodia raged on Friday, despite growing calls for a ceasefire from the international community.

In a statement, the Thai Army said new clashes occurred around 4 a.m. in three locations near the Thai-Cambodian border, specifically in the provinces of Ubon Ratchathani and Surin.
