Thailand deports dozens of Uyghurs to China, sparking condemnation

BANGKOK -- Thailand on Thursday deported dozens of Uyghur men to China, according to people briefed on the operation, drawing immediate condemnation from the U.N., diplomats and human rights groups.

Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa confirmed the deportation in a meeting with ambassadors from the European Union on Thursday afternoon, people with knowledge of the discussions told Nikkei Asia.
