LONDON -- The U.S., U.K. and Australia will cooperate in developing hypersonic missiles and electronic warfare technology, the three countries announced in a statement Tuesday, as the trilateral alliance tries to respond to China's military rise in the Indo-Pacific.

The security alliance will "commence new trilateral cooperation on hypersonics and counter-hypersonics, and electronic warfare capabilities, as well as to expand information sharing and to deepen cooperation on defense innovation," the statement said.
