WASHINGTON -- The U.S. will send a delegation to Taiwan's presidential inauguration that is in line with past precedent, a senior official told reporters ahead of Monday's event.

The entourage attending Lai Ching-te's swearing-in will include Brian Deese, former director of the White House National Economic Council; Richard Armitage, former deputy secretary of state; Richard Bush, senior Brookings Institution fellow; and Laura Rosenberger, chair of the de facto embassy American Institute in Taiwan.
