NEW YORK -- Asian Americans are speaking out against congressional legislation that could ban Chinese nationals from being granted student visas amid heightened fears of deportation of foreigners and international students.

Rep. Riley Moore, a Republican from West Virginia, is the sponsor of the Stop Chinese Communist Prying by Vindicating Intellectual Safeguards in Academia Act, a bill that would halt student or research visas for all Chinese citizens.
