NEW YORK -- Xinjiang Ba Yi Iron & Steel, a subsidiary of the world's largest steel producer, China Baowu Steel Group, was added on Wednesday to the U.S. list of companies deemed to be using Uyghur forced labor.

Ba Yi was put on the entity list under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which treats goods coming from the northwestern Chinese region of Xinjiang as having been made using forced labor unless there is "clear and convincing evidence" otherwise.
