Biden and Xi to meet in Bay Area on Nov. 15, says White House

In key acknowledgment, U.S. says efforts to 'shape' China have failed

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Joe Biden will meet his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, for the first time in a year on Nov. 15 in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, the White House announced Friday.

The meeting will come on Xi's first trip to the U.S. since he was hosted by Donald Trump at the then-president's Mar-a-Lago estate in 2017.
