WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Joe Biden had a one-hour meeting with China's top diplomat, Wang Yi, at the White House Friday, where he highlighted the importance of maintaining open lines of communication with Beijing.

The meeting, held in the Roosevelt Room, was attended by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan on the U.S. side, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters.
