SHANGHAI -- Chinese President Xi Jinping met visiting U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday as the world's two biggest economies seek to patch up ties that have frayed over geopolitical, trade and technology tensions.

The meeting was part of a series Blinken held with top Chinese officials on his two-day visit to Beijing.
