TOKYO -- China said Friday that Vice President Han Zheng will attend Donald Trump's presidential inauguration in Washington on Jan. 20, even though the invitation to the event was sent to President Xi Jinping.

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not elaborate on the move, but said that Beijing stands ready to work with the new U.S. government and to find the "right way for the two countries to get along with each other."
