BEIJING/WASHINGTON -- Beijing on Friday halted dialogue between senior Chinese and U.S. military officials in response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trip to Taiwan, essentially cutting off exchanges between the two countries' forces.

China's Foreign Ministry said it will also pause working-level defense policy talks and meetings under the bilateral Military Maritime Consultative Agreement as part of its eight countermeasures to Pelosi's trip.
