NEW YORK -- Twenty-nine Chinese companies, including metal, agricultural and Chinese herbal businesses, were added to a U.S. list of entities linked to Uyghur forced labor on Friday, the biggest single addition in the list's two-year history.

The additions under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which treats goods coming from the northwestern Chinese region of Xinjiang as having been made with forced labor, bring the total to more than 100 companies.
